Dr. Pankaj Joshi

A dedicated wildlife and nature photographer since 1986, Dr. Pankaj Joshi brings nearly four decades of experience capturing the raw beauty of India’s biodiversity. His photographic journeys have taken him across Andaman & Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Ladakh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and West Bengal, with international exposure in Japan and the US.
Specializing in bird and landscape photography, Dr. Joshi’s work has been featured in top-tier publications including Amateur Photographer Magazine (UK) and the Journal of Wildlife Photography (USA). His accolades include:
● 1st place in the Water and Wildlife competition (Intermediate category, Journal of Wildlife Photography, USA)
● 3rd place in Animal Kingdom round of Amateur Photographer of the Year, UK
● 2nd place in Wildlife Photography Competition (2025), DCP Expeditions LLP, Mumbai
Dr. Joshi is also a seasoned mentor, comfortable with both virtual and physical classes, and leads photo tours with a grounded, insightful approach. In 2024, he served as a judge for the Indian Medical Association (Pimpri-Chinchwad) photography competition.
Beyond the lens, he is an engineer by profession in the metallurgy, ceramics, and semiconductor industry, and a passionate educator in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for grades 8-12. His strong belief in wildlife conservation fuels his work and mentorship.
