Ragesh Radhakrishnan ( 1VAAS )
Karnataka
Ragesh Radhakrishnan is a wildlife photographer whose lens is guided by a lifelong curiosity for nature, people, and the unseen stories between them. Based in Bangalore, he brings over two decades of experience as a Senior Manager at a global data services company, while dedicating every free moment to exploring and photographing the wild.
Since 2020, Ragesh has travelled extensively across South, Central, North, and Northeast India, as well as Kenya, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia, capturing the breathtaking variety of life across continents. Armed with a Canon R5 and R10, and a deep understanding of mammals, birds, insects, reptiles, and landscapes, he has developed a style that is thoughtful, patient, and rooted in connection.
His passion isn’t just for photography, it's for the world that surrounds it. As a self-proclaimed foodie and traveler, Ragesh seeks out remote towns, local stories, and traditional food cultures wherever he goes. He sees nature not just as a setting, but as an ongoing dialogue between people, places, and ecosystems. His anthropological interest in food and culture often runs parallel to his love for wildlife, making his journeys rich with meaning and layered storytelling.
Ragesh represented India at the prestigious Frazer Hill Bird Race in Malaysia, and today, he shares his insights and energy through mentorship, physical and virtual workshops, and immersive photo tours. He believes deeply in democratizing wildlife photography, ensuring that knowledge and access aren't reserved for a few, but open to anyone with the curiosity to learn.
At home, Ragesh is a proud father, a devoted husband, and a firm believer in giving back. His wife is actively involved in conservation and social work, and together they’re raising a 12-year-old son who’s already joined them on safaris across Kenya, Kaziranga, Kabini, Corbett, and Gir. Their life is an ecosystem in itself, built on shared purpose, wild wanderings, and a deep love for the natural world.
As a mentor at Wild By Nature, Ragesh brings a rich blend of field wisdom, cultural empathy, and a people-first approach. He teaches not just how to shoot but how to see.
