About Mentor

Satyaki Naha

West Bengal

Satyaki Naha is a wildlife photographer whose journey began not with grand plans or expensive gear, but with a deep-rooted passion for the wild. Based in Kolkata, West Bengal, Satyaki has been capturing the beauty and complexity of India’s wildlife since 2014, from the quiet depths of the Sundarbans to the forests of North Bengal, Himachal, South India, and Maharashtra.

Armed with his trusted Nikon, Satyaki’s photography focuses on mammals, birds, and landscapes, with a special love for the untold stories that live within the mangroves and tiger corridors. His images are raw, observant, and rich with life often reflecting the same calm intensity he carries in the field.

Over the years, his work has been featured by notable platforms including the Mangrove Photography Awards, Wildlife Trust of India, Indian Wildography, Indian Tourism, and more. He’s earned multiple awards including 2nd and 10th position in “Dekho Apna Desh” by the Government of India, and recognition in international exhibitions such as PAP, Photoxi, BWPC, and INW Awards.

But beyond accolades, Satyaki is a natural educator, someone who believes in mentorship, access, and awareness. He actively guides budding photographers, leads photo tours, and shares his field knowledge with honesty and humility. His goal? To help more people find their voice through the wild without losing sight of the wild itself.

A businessman by profession and a conservationist at heart, Satyaki is passionate about tiger research, book reading, and advocating for no-plastic zones and a halt to unchecked urbanization. He lives in Kolkata with his wife, mother, and father rooted in family, yet always called by the forest.

As a mentor with Wild By Nature, Satyaki brings quiet strength, hands-on field experience, and a mission to show that anyone with heart, patience, and purpose can become a voice for the wild.
