Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve (Assam) is the subcontinent’s definitive Greater One-horned Rhinoceros (listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List) stronghold - UNESCO-listed floodplain mosaic of tall elephant grass, beels (oxbow lakes), marsh and riverine forest along the Brahmaputra. Managed through multiple safari ranges (Kohora/Central, Bagori/Western, Agoratoli/Eastern, Burapahar/Southern) with regulated access, Kaziranga pairs conservation pedigree with photo-friendly logistics and dependable big-mammal viewing.


Why go: If rhinos are your priority, February is a sweet spot. Cooler mornings and shorter grasses in many meadows concentrate wildlife around beels, making rhino encounters frequent and photo-rich (often with calves). Expect megafauna variety alongside the headline species: Asian elephant, wild water buffalo, swamp deer (barasingha), hog deer, wild boar, with Bengal tiger present at notable densities; wetlands add winter birding - storks (greater/lesser adjutant), pelicans, raptors, and waterfowl, and waterways can yield Ganges river dolphin. Habitat diversity, careful regulation, and a proven sighting record make Kaziranga a smart choice for first-time visitors and focused photographic assignments alike.

  • Safari permits are non-refundable once booked

  • RO water provided in reusable bottles; mineral water available at extra cost
